The Ruvati RVH8591 can be installed with its drain on either the left or the right. Choose that orientation while planning the plumbing and cabinet contents. Rotating the sink after it is attached to the countertop is not a practical way to fix a blocked pull-out bin.
This guide covers the 33-inch single-bowl Veniso workstation, using Ruvati’s product page and two-page specification checked September 19, 2026. We have not installed or flow-tested it. The useful buying question is whether moving the drain to one side improves your particular cabinet layout enough to justify this sink.
Start below the sink, then choose the drain side
Make a simple plan of the cabinet with the doors open. Mark the wall waste outlet, shutoff valves, water-filter equipment and the path of any pull-out bin. Then add the actual garbage disposal’s body and discharge connection, or the proposed strainer and trap if you do not use a disposal.
Try both drain positions on that plan. A side drain can leave a larger continuous area on the opposite side, but the pipe leading to the wall can still cross that space. The useful result is a clear volume that your bin or filter can occupy throughout its movement, including its handle, lid and service access.

| Drain choice | Possible advantage | Check before choosing |
|---|---|---|
| Left side | May keep the right side clearer for a bin or filter. | Left-side plumbing, disposal body and service access. |
| Right side | May keep the left side clearer. | Right-side plumbing and the full pull-out travel. |
| Either orientation | The same model offers both layouts before installation. | Actual cutout, mounting access, faucet reach and final waste route. |
There is no universal rule that the drain belongs nearest the dishwasher or opposite your dominant hand. Those preferences matter only after the installer confirms a workable layout. For the broader distinction between moving a drain toward the back and moving it sideways, see our drain-position planning guide.
Resolve the 33-inch versus 36-inch cabinet discrepancy
Use 36 inches as the initial cabinet planning requirement, and obtain confirmation before purchase or fabrication. Ruvati’s current product page and the selected Amazon listing state a 36-inch minimum. The linked specification is internally inconsistent: its first-page table says 33 inches, while its second-page installation drawing says 36 inches.
That conflict is a reason to stop a 33-inch-cabinet purchase until Ruvati and your installer confirm the exact arrangement. It is not evidence that trimming a cabinet or squeezing the rim between its sides is acceptable. Even a nominal 36-inch cabinet still needs checks for its inside space, supports, plumbing and access to the mounting clips.
The documented sink footprint is 33 × 19 inches; the listed bowl is 31½ × 16 inches, with a nominal 10-inch depth. These are planning dimensions, not a countertop cutout. Have the fabricator work from the current template and the delivered sink. Keep the intended drain orientation written on the installation plan.
Ruvati RVH8591 — 33-inch single-bowl workstation

The sink combines a floor that slopes toward its offset drain with ledges supporting a cutting board and folding rack above the bowl. These perform different jobs. The floor directs water; the ledges create a place to work. A raised bottom grid is another separate component that keeps cookware away from the steel.
Do not add extra tilt to the installed sink in an attempt to improve drainage. Follow the mounting instructions and let the manufactured floor shape do its job. A drainage claim does not prove that every food fragment will wash away without rinsing, or that the surface will dry completely in your kitchen.
Ruvati identifies the replacement bottom grid as RVA68591 and limits it to RVH8591. An accessory described as “for a 33-inch sink” is not enough. Check the grid’s model, feet and drain opening before ordering; preserve access to lift it out for cleaning. Our grid and accessory measurement guide explains the additional fit checks.
Compare the complete plumbing and workstation package
The listed box includes a cutting board, folding rack, rinse grid, basket strainer, decorative drain cover, template and mounting clips. Ruvati says the included drain assembly is for standard plumbing. If you use a garbage disposal, plan the disposal-compatible flange separately; do not assume the supplied basket assembly installs on top of it.
A useful pre-order check is to ask the installer to identify the chosen drain side, the intended drain hardware and the cabinet area that remains usable. Keep those three answers with the exact model number. The workstation is worth shortlisting when its accessories fit your routine and the side drain solves a real layout problem. If the pipe route still blocks the same bin, the advertised storage advantage may have little value for you.
