Are KRAUS and Ruvati Workstation Accessories Interchangeable?

Do not buy a KRAUS workstation accessory for a Ruvati sink, or the reverse, merely because both sinks are 30 or 32 inches wide. There is no universal workstation fit standard established by those width labels. Order an accessory that the manufacturer identifies for your exact sink or compatible family.

A board that rests on a ledge must be supported at both ends and clear the countertop opening. A close-looking size or a claim that it is “universal” does not establish either condition. This guide concerns replacement boards and other ledge-supported accessories, not ordinary countertop cutting boards.

Why the outside sink width cannot answer the question

The advertised width usually describes the sink from left to right. A board commonly bridges the opening from front to back and then slides sideways along ledges. Even when two bowls share an exterior width, the distance between those ledges, their depth and the board’s underside can differ.

Think of fit as three checks: the manufacturer’s compatibility list, the support surfaces, and the path the accessory must travel. Passing only the first tape-measure check is insufficient. A board may sit in one spot but catch under a countertop overhang when moved.

Two replacement boards illustrate the problem

Part Manufacturer’s stated scope What needs attention
KRAUS KCB-WS103BB Bamboo accessory designed for KRAUS workstation ledges Its linked KCB-WS103 specification shows 16¾ × 12 × ¾ inches. The product-page dimension bullet instead gives an 8¾-inch width.
Ruvati RVA1217 Ruvati LedgeFit sinks; its product page excludes other sink brands The current linked PDF and Amazon listing say 17¼ inches long; the product page says 17⅛. Width is listed as 11 inches and thickness as ⅞.

These are source discrepancies, not manufacturing tolerances. We found them on September 25, 2026. Do not average the values, decide that either difference is “close enough,” or use this table to authorize a cross-brand fit. Ask the manufacturer to confirm the current part for your sink model, particularly if replacing an older board.

The conflicting figures do not change the central buying rule: Ruvati’s RVA1217 compatibility statement is for LedgeFit, while the KRAUS accessory is designed for its own workstation system. We have no manufacturer approval establishing that these two boards are interchangeable, and have not physically fitted either to the other brand’s sink.

A useful replacement-part checklist

  • Find the complete sink model. Use the invoice, installation paperwork or product label. Include suffixes and bowl layout; “KRAUS 32-inch” is not a complete model.
  • Identify how the original accessory sits. Is it on an integrated ledge, across the countertop, or on the bowl floor? These are different support systems.
  • Record the original board’s overall size and underside. Photograph any steps, grooves, feet and the support contact areas. Measurements help the supplier identify the part; they do not replace its compatibility decision.
  • Check the installed opening. Countertop overhang and corners can obstruct an accessory even when the sink model is correct. Our undermount reveal guide explains the edge treatments.
  • Confirm the exact replacement SKU and revision. Ask whether that part is approved for your sink, including an older production version. If the published dimensions disagree, resolve that before ordering.

Keep the packaging until you have checked the approved part’s unloaded seating and movement. Do not chop on a rocking board or load a rack that can slip. Do not trim a board, bend a rack or improvise a spacer to make an unsupported combination seem compatible.

Where to check the exact parts

After the model match is confirmed, these links open the specific replacement parts discussed above. They are not a recommendation to swap brands. The KRAUS page may show its offer under “See All Buying Options”; review the current seller, delivery and return conditions.

Does the same rule apply to racks, colanders and grids?

Yes: identify the support system for each item independently. A rolling rack’s end pieces and a colander’s rim must suit the ledges they rest on. A bottom grid instead follows the bowl floor, corner shape and drain opening. One accessory fitting does not prove that the rest of another brand’s set will fit.

If you are choosing a whole sink, assess its included accessories as part of the package and budget for approved replacements. Our KRAUS Kore versus Ruvati workstation comparison covers the wider purchase decision. For an accessory you already own, see workstation accessory care before assuming it belongs in the dishwasher.
