The Elkay D117193 is a compact drop-in bar-sink candidate for a suitable 21-inch-or-wider base cabinet. Its 17 × 19-inch footprint does not mean it fits a 17-inch cabinet, and it does not describe the hole to cut in a countertop. The useful question is whether this particular three-hole sink fits your existing opening and faucet plan.
We checked the US D117193 documents and selected retail variant on October 2, 2026. This is a document-based fit guide, not an installation review. It covers the three-hole D117193, not every D11719 family configuration.

Separate the product dimensions from the installation
On a narrow screen, scroll the table sideways if needed.
| Published detail | What to check at your bar |
|---|---|
| 17 × 19-inch outside footprint | Room for the sink rim, surrounding counter and faucet deck. This is not the cutout. |
| 21-inch minimum cabinet | Cabinet construction, obstructions and mounting access still need an installer’s check. |
| 14 × 14 × 6-inch listed bowl | Use your real pitcher, ice bucket and glasses to decide whether the working space is sufficient. |
| Three faucet holes; 3½-inch drain opening | Match the selected faucet and drain assembly, including the space required beneath them. |
Elkay lists 22 gauge stainless steel and bottom sound pads. Do not interpret the pad specification as a tested noise result. There is also a small published depth discrepancy: the product heading says 6⅛ inches overall, while its table says 6³⁄₁₆. The bowl depth is separately listed as 6 inches. Have the installer confirm the supplied model and current drawing before planning close clearances.
Existing countertop: start with the opening you already have
For a replacement, write down the exposed opening dimensions and corner shape after the old sink can be safely assessed. Then have the installer compare the actual new sink and its approved template. A rim that looks large enough from above does not establish adequate bearing, clip access or a suitable mounting surface below.
Keep three photographs with the measurements: the counter from above, the underside around the opening, and the cabinet interior including plumbing. These help expose different problems. A wide opening may leave too little support; a cabinet rail may obstruct hardware; a drain may occupy the area where you planned a waste bin.
Do not rotate a retail “length × width” label mentally to make the sink fit. Establish which edge carries the faucet deck from the actual model and installation drawing. Our cabinet and opening measurement guide explains the general measurements; the D117193 template must settle the final cut.
Three holes are a layout decision
Before ordering a faucet, compare its mounting pattern with the sink drawing. Check the required hole size, center spacing, mounting thickness, nut access and handle movement near the backsplash. The words “three holes” do not establish compatibility with an arbitrary three-hole faucet.
If you intend to use a single-hole faucet, plan how the remaining openings will be closed or used. Verify that any cover plate or accessory fits this deck rather than treating spare holes as an automatic benefit. Ask for a parts list showing what comes with the selected sink offer and what must be purchased separately.
The drain opening likewise does not choose the complete plumbing assembly for you. Use the basket-strainer fit checklist for flange, seal and under-bowl checks. Add the actual faucet and drain costs to the sink price before comparing packages.
Choose it for a compact bar job
Our practical test is a dry workflow rehearsal: put the items you expect to rinse on a marked 14-inch-square work area, then consider their height and handles. This is a planning exercise, not a promise about the bowl’s rounded usable bottom. If the station mainly handles glasses and a small pitcher, a compact bowl may leave valuable landing space beside it.
If large prep tasks matter more and a suitable 24-inch cabinet plus an undermount counter are available, compare the larger Ruvati RVH7121 prep-sink arrangement. It solves a different installation problem. Neither model should be bought solely because its retail name says “bar sink.”

Comparing a smaller bar sink? Check why a 2-inch drain opening can rule out a typical garbage-disposal mount before comparing motor size or cabinet clearance. The D115151 and D117193 have different drain openings.
