Ruvati RVH8310: A 30-Inch Workstation Sink for a 33-Inch Cabinet?

The Ruvati RVH8310 is a documented option for a 33-inch minimum base cabinet when you want a 30-inch undermount workstation sink. It is not a 30-inch-cabinet sink. Its appeal is moving some food preparation and drying over the basin. Its main compromises are the smaller open washing area while accessories are in use and sharp inside corners.

We compared Ruvati’s model page, specification sheet and the US Amazon 30-inch variant on September 17, 2026. This is a purchase-planning guide, not a hands-on review. A small disagreement between the manufacturer’s dimensions is discussed below, because it matters more to a tight fit than a generic “spacious bowl” claim.

A 33-inch cabinet is the starting requirement

SpecificationRVH8310What it tells you
Minimum base cabinet33 inches wideManufacturer starting requirement; inspect actual interior and supports.
Outside sink30 × 19 inchesOverall envelope, not the countertop opening.
Bowl front to back / depth16 inches / 10 inchesUseful planning figures; not a flat-floor guarantee.

Do not subtract three inches from every cabinet size and treat the answer as a universal sink limit. The 33-inch requirement belongs to this model. Cabinet construction, front rails, mounting hardware and the countertop design still matter. Use our 33-inch cabinet examples and fit checks for the next measurements. If your cabinet is labeled 30 inches, this particular recommendation does not apply; start with the 30-inch cabinet examples.

Three separate RVH8310 checks: 33-inch minimum cabinet, 30-inch exterior sink, and accessory space above the bowl.
Original planning diagram, not to scale or suitable for cutting. Cabinet width, sink width and the working opening are separate measurements.

For an existing countertop, have the fabricator compare the actual opening with the delivered sink and its template. A larger cabinet does not rescue a cutout that is too large, has the wrong corners or exposes the wrong part of the rim. For a new countertop, give the fabricator the sink and the accessories before the cutout is finalized.

Why we are not treating the listed bowl width as exact fit proof

Ruvati’s downloadable specification lists a 28⅜-inch interior width. Its current product-page description lists 28½ inches. Both give 16 inches front to back and a 10-inch bowl depth. The selected Amazon listing agrees with the 28⅜-inch figure. We have not measured a physical sample to resolve the ⅛-inch difference.

For broad planning, this is a roughly 28-inch-wide basin. For an unusually tight baking-sheet fit, a custom insert or fabrication, the discrepancy is a reason to obtain a current drawing and measure the actual product. Do not average the numbers or use the larger value simply because it makes your pan fit on paper.

Measure cookware over its outside rim and handles, then allow room to hold and rinse it. A pan that barely enters a bowl is not automatically pleasant to wash. The listed interior opening also does not establish the basin’s usable flat floor at every height.

The worthwhile question: what job will the ledge do?

The documented package includes a cutting board, colander, folding rack, bottom grid, strainer and drain cover. Think through one actual meal rather than counting the accessories. Where will you rinse vegetables, place the board, put a dirty mixing bowl and dry the knife? If each step competes for the same section of sink, the workstation may shift congestion rather than remove it.

Your routineLikely benefitCompromise to accept
Small counter; frequent vegetable preparationBoard and colander can work over the basin. You need a clean place to park them when washing a large pan.
A few hand-washed dishes after each mealFolding rack provides an above-bowl drying location.Drying items occupy part of the opening.
Large roasting trays and stockpotsA single bowl avoids a center divider.Remove accessories and compare real cookware dimensions first.
Minimal cleaning and accessory storageA plain bowl may be simpler.Sharp corners, the ledge and removable pieces add surfaces to maintain.

A useful rehearsal is to mark a 30 × 19-inch rectangle on an existing work surface with removable tape. It represents the outside footprint only. Place your own board and drying rack nearby, then simulate putting them away with wet hands. This does not prove accessory fit; it reveals whether you have a convenient parking location. If not, include that storage in the project.

The RVH8310’s sharp corners suit a crisp visual style, but they deserve deliberate cleaning access. If small rounded corners are a stronger preference than a workstation ledge, our RVH7433 guide explains that different design. The RVH7433 is larger and has a different cabinet requirement, so it is not an automatic substitute.

Budget for the complete installation

The sink package does not eliminate countertop work, support, removal or plumbing costs. In particular, a 10-inch bowl can place the drain lower than an older shallow sink. Have the installer check the drain outlet and disposal envelope before committing to the depth. Our vertical clearance worksheet covers that separate measurement.

The included strainer is for standard drain plumbing. A disposal installation uses the appropriate disposal flange rather than simply adding the disposal to the supplied basket. A 3½-inch opening does not establish clearance for every disposal body, elbow, drawer or filter under the sink.

A practical order checklist

  1. Confirm RVH8310 and the 30-inch undermount variant on the order, not a similar Roma size.
  2. Record cabinet width and the actual interior obstructions; use the documented 33-inch minimum as the first screen.
  3. Have the fabricator review the delivered sink, correct template and intended exposed edge.
  4. Check the largest cookware with room for your hands, using the conservative bowl dimension until the discrepancy is resolved.
  5. Agree on support, faucet space, plumbing changes and who inspects delivery damage.
  6. Make room to dry and store the board, rack and colander when they are not in use.

Our buying judgment

Shortlist the RVH8310 when a documented 33-inch-cabinet workstation is the right project size and you will use its ledge regularly. Choose a simpler basin when the accessories are mostly a selling point you will store away, or when easy access to rounded corners matters more. Stop the purchase if your cabinet or existing cutout cannot be verified; a good accessory bundle cannot compensate for the wrong fit.
